9 May Dusty blog, i must blog more9 months from my last posting, i must try to blog more.
so what happened, not much. just started the intermediate course. just been on holiday to Pontins prestatyn.
the holiday was fun, the high light was the step lad wanting to absail, i joined him as they needed another bod to run the absailing. i done it before and what another trip down the rope. he got to the top of the tower, that was aprox 40 ft high. stopped and did not want to move at all, after trying to elay his fears, he came down the interal walkway. leaving me to absail, although i have a fear of falling, yes falling. i dont mind hight, but if there a wiff of me ending up and a street pizza, my heart is going faster that duricell bunny with 10kv up its bum.
the kids loved the activities, trampoleaning (?? spelling) even shell had a go, to much laughter by the whole family.
17 August PMR'sAre 446Mhz PMR the new CB? they are being bought by the ton, they a lot of traffic on them, families, kids and alike. we have some at work for short range coms, e.g cat 5 install. and we keep getting people on every channel, from builder using it for work to a biking family.
So are they CB for the 00, i dont know. any thought on CB and PMR, drop me a line. 1 August Course driving me madI been on driver training for SJA. The training is to get me up to a better standerd. So now im now a IAM ( Institute of Advanced Motorists) i wonder if my insurant company give IAM discounts?? 28 July BT, a disjointed companyright where do i start. last year i think.
We where with BT for phone and internet, we decided to switch to another company for the phone. we had some
payment outstanding with BT, we paid them some money think that the bills we will get with have to rolled
over on to it. so we paid them some more, we did not know how much we had left to pay so we waited for the
next bill.
When the next bill arrived, it only had internet charges on it so we thought we had paid off the outstanding
and carried on as normal paying BT for broadband. UNTILL we changed back to BT as the other phone company
had problems with there systems. then after a couple of weeks our phone goes dead. yes the outstanding that
disappeared had reappeared, with NO letter, call or ANY type of communications they had cut off our service.
after 2 weeks and multipal phone call totalling 6 hours. with the phone back on and being told that our
internet would not be cut, it was. 3 call to BT broadband cut off later i got so hacked off i phone the
complaints dept.
after an hour and a half, i finally got a result, BT addmitted it was there fault. recredited the account
with services charges incured due to the cut off, wiping the outstanding £179.84. but they could do nothing
about the internet connection. and after BT BROADBAND 3 cut off calls i gave up and joined plusnet for
internet. 5 June HolidayAs i said in the last post, I've been on holiday. it was presthaven north wales. after sorting out going portable, bloody Foundation licence. i was ready to go. did not key up as much as i would of liked but it was a fun filled time. the kids loved it. the olders kim almost killed me with her dangerous go kart driving, ta kim!!
As with all holidays there are down points, like no parking by the caravan, the car park only took 8 cars for 20-ish caravans, you do the maths. the bed as small and hard, as usual for them. The one thing i did not like and comented on to the staff was the damaged electric boxes for the caravans. one was missing the top section and had a pool of water in the bottom, the other had no front on it, that was on the floor with 2 small strips of electricains tape on it. hardly a good fix to start with.
the shows where good and the t bone in the oasis diner was cooked to perfection. the weather was great, sun sea (did not go in it, there was a heated pool on site) and sand. go karts. heated pool, and other things to fill a holiday with fun.
Did get to key up a couple of times, the best was on top of a sand dune, got park gate mersyside. working from the caravan was limited by the hills to the south and the sand dunes to the north. and the sites radio units where coded so i could not SWL bit. did find the local coppers are still on uncoded anologe FM.
73's for now |
